This stuff IS a weed.But its cool looking.I picked this up with my pond lotus this past weekend and put a handful in my tank.

Its actually fairy moss or azolla.I googled it.As it truns out its a fantastic treat for koi and goldfish.I think I will raise this stuff,they eat like hogs I could use some free food!

I bought a lotus,they come in a 5 gal pot with water in it.The post was full of this stuff.

Oh I see so it was a tag along. Humm I am gonna have to go look for some of that stuff. They will probably look at me funny when I am looking in all the pots trying to find weeds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

14943It has a spindly looking root system under it about an inch and half long.As for koi food,there is none left in the pond at all!

Found it from a guy on aquabid...actually ended up being the same guy I got my water lettuce from =]

I think the basic definition of weed is "unwanted" but that fairy stuff is certainly NOT unwanted its so pretty, and unusual looking.The leaves are squarish looking lol Very nice.
