Recently I noticed my tank has some "milky" water on the top. When I look at it from above it looks like there is a white glaze floating on the water and when I stick my hand in to fix something or swirl the water a dozen or so bubbles fill the top of the tank.

I havent seen this since the beginning when I was acclimating my new tank and going through the symptons.

Anyone know what this is and how I can rid it? I do water changes every other week so Im pretty upkeep about it. What a thing to find out the day Im supposed to get a discus :(

What are you water parameters? are you going thru a mini-cycle? did you do anything to the tank in the last week or so?

I see this every once in a while. I believe it's free-floating beneficial bacteria on the surface, not harmful at all.

You may see this more often while cycling as bacteria blooms come and go.

What's much more important for introducing fish are your water parameters - ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
