I should have figured that it would happen, but I really thought that he was big enough for him not to eat him!
Kellior was my JD, who was the "sparkling convict" that got left on my doorstep a while ago. He wouldn't have even been an inch long. He was in my community tank, along with the other 3 normal convicts. But then they started getting way to aggresive. I ended up shifting them into the tank with Oscar. Now oscar is about 9" and Kellior had grown to about 5.5". The other convicts are about 4".
I had to shift them, they were attacking the Nadja and Judit my GBR's and Kellior was constatly chasing Tank and Tilly my big silver dollars. Tilly was getting really jumpy and skittish.
I know it was dicey putting them in with Oscar, but I really didn't have anywhere else to put them. I though they'd be OK since it's been nearly 2 months now and there's heaps of hidy holes that Okka can't get to.
Poor Kellior. He was like a Jack Russel, didn't know his size, thinks he was as big a Rottweiler when he's only little.
I didn't actually see Okka grab him, but I was eating tea and looked over at the tank and saw something hanging out Okka's mouth. His tail was still just moving, but he was gone.
I'd actaully grown to like the little guy! He was so feisty! Maybe it's a bit of blessing, I really didn't have the room for them. I didn't buy them they were left on my doorstep.
There's one of the convicts missing now too. I just looked. So there's only 2 left. Oh I feel horrible! Poor fishies. I should have taken them to the LFS or something when they got left. Instead of putting them in my tanks.:14:
