Pakistani loaches jumping out of tank

Hi,

Just if anybody would know why a Pakistani Loach would jump out of the tank. I have lost 2 loaches through this, one was a few months ago, the other, Stabler, was this morning. Stabler had previously jumped out of the tank but we were there to get him back in. Decided to lightly cover the finger holes he was jumping out of but last night we think he jump out of a smaller hole in the corner of the tank. The water would appear to fine so I do not know the reason for the jumping.
Could it be he is just playful, or do you think maybe he was bullied out or anything like that? I just don't want another Loach, of the 2 left, jumping out and killing itself.

You could put a screen over the top of your tank.
I have no idea why they would want to commit suicide.

Loaches are jumpers, and are likely to jump for no good reason. However, I have 3 of them and have never seen them anywhere near the surface of the tank.

Do they have caves and lots of plants to hide in? They are very shy fish and if they don't feel safe in the tank they might attempt to leave it by jumping.

There are 3 small amounts of driftwood, and 1 very big centrepiece. There is only 1 sword and a java fern I am trying to attach to one of the bits of wood.

There should be plenty of hiding space. They hide everywhere. I don't know, maybe he was just a jumper. Mine rarely came to the surface also, except for when they want to commit suicide.

I cant really put a screen over it, there are already 4 glass panels. I might just get a little something to cover the whole we suspect he jumped out of though.

Ah well, move on eh!? Thanks lads. I think the only reason I put this up was to share it. No real advise could be given I think.

My loaches are pretty wild but they have never jumped out of the tank. I do hear however that it is pretty normal for loaches to jump out of the tank, or find smll little places to squeeze through to get out. I am not sure why, I guess it is just a loach behavior. I would cover every little space you can and just keep a close eye out.
