View Full Version : Steve isn't acting like himself :(

So, my betta, Steve, used to be superfriendly. I moved to a new home and Steve moved into a larger tank, but he just hasn't been himself. He's been in his new 5 gal for a month now. He's experienced loss of color, and extreme lethargy. :( He doesn't seem to eat much anymore. All he does is hide in his little log, or let himself float up in the corner. He'll stay there forever until you you tap on the glass (to make sure he's not dead!) while he's resting by it, he startles way easier than he used to he'll fly all over the tank and hit himself on things. I'm so worried about the lil guy :( anyone have ANY ideas? I think the water is too cold... I got a heater but I accidentally got one with too much power and i think he burned his fins a little bit. Since that, he seems even WORSE. D:
Any ideas? Please and thanks!

Was his new home cycled or is it going through cycling? Does he have a filter? What temp. do you have the tank? Are you testing the water and doing regular partial water changes etc. A 25 watt heater is sufficient for a 5gall. tank.

Edit: Sorry I just saw your other thread http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquariumforum/showthread.php?t=44396&page=2 where other members gave a lot of advice on the relatively same subject.
