I don't have the tank or the eel anymore, though I hear he is doing well. The shot is from 2006.

I do miss the eel though. He was a superb hunter, and super smart. My wife used to be able to hand feed him blood worms and tickle his chin.

nice tire track =]

I <3 mine...cant wait till my plants grow in some more and give more cover for him during the day.

He doesn't venture out much from the caves/rocks during the day. Soon as the moonlight kicks on though he is all over the sides =]

Cool watching him sneak around....

Can you get another one to replace him?

Love tiretrack eels, wish I had a tank big enough for them.

30". Great fish, that's for sure. Fire eels and tire track eels do get bigger though, maybe around 40"...

WHOA! That's HUGE! So they eat fish then? Seems they'd not be safe to have in a tank with other fish??

A 40" tiretrack eel. Thats huge. I have personally never ever seen one over maybe 20" in captivity. Who knows though fish of anykind always are full of surprises.

I suppose they'd have to be in a tank alone, or with other eels...
