Did you just pick up the shell, or did you have the actual crab and it molted and now you cant find it?? When they first molt they will hide for a bit until their new shell hardeness up.

yeah,it molted,this shell was there,and the crab was hiding somewhere that time

They tend to hide because they have no protection til the new shell hardens.lol
