Oh ya, minor detail LOL. Mama is the swordtail. The'yre front half is yellow and their tails are orange.

There's probably 25-30 babies. I can't find my other heater, gotta find that dang thing!!!!

Thanks all!

I have 3 cichlids holding, but I guess I wont be putting them into my quarentine tank since I have the swordtail babies. I really love these guys! They"re yellow in the front and orange in the rear! I'll try and keep this batch alive for the fifty gallon, but the rest of the batches will be on their own or I'll end up WAY over populated!

Question....how long does it take before I can dump the babies back into the tank with the rest of the fish? I have no idea the growth rate of these suckers.

It depends, if they are bigger then the biggest fish mouth then you are ok.
And yes mith I will be the god father.. :)

I don't know....LOL I used to have a tank full of about 20 small mouth bass! It was not uncommon to come home only to find a tail protruding out of one of the bfishes mouthes LOL and the eaten fish was not much bigger than the fish eaten LOL

Yeah, I think I've got about 16 survivors of my batch of fry. What I'm going to do with them, I have no idea. But it's fun to see the little tadpoles swimming about in a 10gal, isn't it? :D

Ya lol....my first batch gets amnisty....subsequent batches are on their own!
