Very sad news -- I woke up this morning and looked in my big tank and "Big Red" was on the bottom. He was one of my very first africans this time around and a big one for sure --- I have had him for 7 years now -- not sure what the problem was -- he seemed fine and was eating the night before. Everybody else is doing great -- water conditions have not changed -- maybe it was just his time!!
I will miss you Big Red!! (I think he may have been Lucky's dad)

Thanks ---- maybe he just stayed around long enough to see Lucky grow large enough to hang out with the big guys!!

Sorry to hear it. At 7 years it might have been due to age. They can live longer but 7 years isn't a bad age either.

Very Sorry for your loss Kim! Sad way to start the day! I agree and probably old age. Most fish don't live out there full lifespan if kept in tanks, but having him for 7 years sure sounds like he was given the best care!
yeah 7 is pretty good, I am sorry for your loss..
