Hi, I'm new on this forum. So I had three crayfish, and two of the mated and then the female had her eggs under her tail. So I moved the female into a 5.5 gallon and she layed her eggs. But a couple days later, all of the babies had died. :scry: Does anyone know what could have happened?
Thanks!
the tank is kinda too small, and the water wasnt ready for the babies i guess, crayfishes are tough, they aint that easy to die.once the mother finds shes transferred to another new place and she might be scared, and she may kick eggs,so next time,a bigger tank, and prepared water, and a cave something might be better
best have a photo to check

Welcome to the Fabulous AC!:22:
Was the tank with the babies fully cycled ?
Dechlorinated?

I had to temporarily house one of my crayfish in a 5 gallon - he was VERY unhappy. A cave is a must for crayfish, ESPECIALLY in a small tank.
Were the babies alive and then died or were they dead from the start?

Thanks for the quick responses, guys. I guess the tank was too small; it's all I had on hand. I did have a cave in the aquarium, and a big plant she could hide in. I used cycled, dechlorinated water from the other tank she was in. The babies were alive first, then died.
are they baby crayfishes in shape or they are just eggs?

Water from a cycled tank does nothing.Sorry.
You need to take some media from your cycled filter and add it to the filter you want to cycle. The gravel holds some of the cycle but the filter is what counts. Here is more info on cycling a tank.
