Here's some clips of my shrimp, featuring my cherry red bamboo shrimp. I love this guy. For the first 8 months or so, I never saw him. He hid all the time. Suddenly, he started to explore and be more assertive around the tank. What a character! He'll hang upside down or at times, walk around. He looks like a big bug when he walks. Pretty weird. His colors are intense. (unfortunately the two clips I have of him here don't do him justice in terms of his color.) He eats microscopic food particles and will ignore anything larger. The first clip is of the underside of him eating. Pretty rare shot. Notice also the white spots on his side. They remind of the marking on the cocoon of a monarch butterfly.

The next two clips I always thought to be of a ghost shrimp but now I'm not sure what it is. Can somebody please I.D. this shrimp for me?

This next clip is of my horseface loaches (Ding and Dong). They are usually together and often times, side by side; hence their names. They need some acting lessons. They get very stiff in front of the camera.

Last but I no way least, my tribute video. This is a video of my plecostomus that died (the only casualty I've had amongst the larger of my tropical fish since I set up this tank in 2007). He was a voracious eater. One day, he figured out how to eat food directly from the top of the water. I'm pretty sure that it was the sudden change of diet that killed him. He was active and healthy one minute and dead the next. He was my favorite of my plecos. He'll be missed.

Don't celebrate too fast. Can you send me some links? The ones is saw online didn't look anything like mine.

I think mine might be a red claw shrimp.

I like your clips of your shrimps and fish. I'm so sorry about your Pleco. By looking at the clip it looks like it had Ich. The white spots that look sort of fuzzy on it's body. Keep an eye out on the other fish in your tank.I have noticed that shows up on any black fish that I have first when it attacks. I had a Black Balloon Molly that died, and a Mostly Black Dalmation Molly that died from Ich. I had to treat the whole tank. My other fish are all fine. Did you know that Plecos can live to 12-15 yrs. I love Plecos. They do an amazing job on keeping my 55 gal. tank glass and decorations clean. The Bushy Nosed Plecos only get to be 4- 4 1/2" when full grown. Other Plecos can out grown your tank at 1 foot or more. It depends on the type you get. Do research first. I think every tank should have one of them to keep it clean. Hopfully you will replace your Pleco. Sorry for you loss. It was a nice looking Pleco.

No, the fish did not have ick. I have super fine white sand in my tank and sometimes it sticks to the plecs. The fish was not stressed. I would have noticed if he had ick or velvet, etc. He was perfectly spunky and healthy one minute and dead the next. I have had these fish for 2 years in this tank with no ick whatsoever.

Again, thanks for your comments. I have researched all of my fish (extensively). The rest of my plecs are amazing specimens and very healthy. The largest has grown 7 inches in 18 months.

Any thoughts on my mystery shrimp?? That one I apparently have not researched enough.

I'm not sure about anything. I've always thought that they were ghost shrimp (the one without the claws def. is) but the other I don't know. I'm pretty sure I bought him as a ghost shrimp but now I don't know what the heck he is. I did a google search for fuzzy clawed shrimp and I didn't see anything similar to what I have. At this point, the red claw looks the closest.
