algae question

i have a 90 gal saltwater tank and am getting green algae it looks like on the glass down in the sand is there anything i can do about this?

How old is the tank? Algae is normal in a young tank and you will go through several stages before its all said and done. Just keep nutrients down, use a skimmer and stick to regular water changes and it shall pass.

How much live rock do you have and what are your nitrate and phosphate levels? Are you using any man made filtration or a skimmer?

my tank is 5 months old and i have alot of live rock not sure exactly how much and i am using a skimmer and sump my nitrate is about.05 and not sure about the phosphate.

It might help if you told us a little more about your tank. What is the stocking? What do you have for a clean-up-crew (snails, hermits, etc.) What is your water change schedule?
