Yeah, I think the barbs are going to have to be in a species only tank. Maybe they thought the loaches were worms. In any event, I got them all out of there. Guess I'll try some corys next.

Yep, tigers are known to be aggressive to anything and everything.

I know they are aggressive, but I thought there was enough of them to stay occupied.
Pygmy corys?
if kuhlis didn't work, I wouldn't do cories..

Hmmmm..... You don't think it had to do with the shape and swimming motion of the loaches? I think it triggered a predatory response where a normally shaped and swimming fish wouln't have.
I guess I have a crayfish to fall back on if all else fails.
agreed, crayfish would be fine, if you don't mind loosing a few tiger barbs every once in a while..

In my experience they only eat fish that are sick/dying, but if it gets a healthy one, so be it. That's nature.
I am going to try corys first because I have a place to put them if they don't work out.
