i'd go with 5 platys, 6 corys, 10 tetras, 1 upside down cat, 2 otto cats, and 3 ghost shrimp, maybe A betta

thats about where my ph stays in my 75 gallon, about 7.6. i have some giant danios, assorted long fin danios, a pleco, khulie loach, ghost shrimp, guppies (breed like rabbits) and a couple different kinds of tetras. They all do great.
its well planted, and my temp is 76 in winter, 79 in summer, if that helps.

Most of the common fish you are going to find locally are already used the the higher ph that is tap water. They were either bred locally in that water or have been already acclimated to it. You seldom see fish come from a store in the low ph levels often recommended until you start to get into more specialty fish.
What fish are you interested in? Find a few that you know you definitely want, and work from there.
