Reusing sand

After I switch out these 2 tanks I will have alot of used sand. If i rinsed it real good till the water was clear and dried it in the sun could I use it in future tanks?

Id say so. Don't know why not.

The only potential problem I could see was if you had been artificially hardening/softening the water and there maybe remanants left in the sand. But like you said, if you washed it, it should be good

I don't see why you would dry it out unless you planned on storing it for a while.Its not a problem to reuse it .

NG - whats wrong with storing it? If it was sealed off from the elements, shouldnt it still be fine?

Its not like its "alive" like the SW folk are so concerned about, right?
