I'm considering a change of plan for my 272 litre 'L' shaped tank. I have decided against the idea of having a pair as I'm not sure if i can properly deal with the fry at the moment. Do you think two males of different species (either; Cichlasoma carpinte (texas), Aequidens rivulatus (green terror), Nandopsis octofasciatum (jack dempsey) or Nandopsis tetracanthus (cuban)) would work long term? Also possibly with a third smaller male like a firemouth or something to take some of the agro!? Also should i add any dither fish or scavengers?
Thank you very much for any advice you may be able to give?
Liam.

It will most likely work if you decorate your aquarium so that there are a lot of natural territorial boarders in the aquarium. Keeping more males can also help lessen the aggression and the stress it puts on each fish.
