Oh man..
Our favourite fish died..
She wasn't even that old..
She was the first fish that I got back in Sept of last year, and she was like 3/4 of an inch when we got her..
Kids are going to be devastated..
Haven't had the heart to tell them yet..
I saw her right away when I got home, pale and unmoving..
I thought maybe she was sick, as for the last 2 days she hadn't even looked at the cucumber I put in the tank, but she was eating algae off the ornaments..
But no..
Man..... What do you say? I feel like crap and have NO idea what I did wrong by her.. :(

Very sorry to hear that Doug! You may not have done anything wrong, so don't go blaming yourself.
I always believe it is best to tell kids the truth regarding this sort of thing...if they are old enough to understand that is!

I'll be getting 2 more plecos just like her in a couple weeks, to soften the blow..
Hopefully there's nothing wrong in the tank presently which contributed to her death..
Parameters are all normal.. (pH, etc)..

Sorry Doug! Good luck with the kids....it's actually a good life experience to deal with the death of pets. Children are suprisingly resilient!
It could have been something internal.

Sorry about your loss...it's always hard when you lose a favorite. I definitely know the feeling. It's amazing how we grow attached to fish just like any other pet....
