no tank is at 80 degrees the plant was sold as a lilly

It's a red lotus..... keep the bulb above the substrate and plant the roots :19:

Nope they don't flower....new leaves keep growing...if your light is not high enough the leaves will grow fairly quickly to the surface and float there.

If you have medium to high light you can 'train' it to stay low by constantly removing the leaves that shoot up to the surface.

They can flower, but rarely in the aquarium. They come from west africa and are definetly a warm water plant. If you got the plant with the bulb, you can de-ttach the plant from the bulb, and the bulb will grow another plant!
