I want to add some Otos to one of my tanks, but I am afraid the Angel will hurt or eat them. What do you think? The Otos I get are quite small when I buy them. Thanks!

I have kept ottos with Angels Nancy, not a prob, as long as they
are bigger than snack size they should be fine.

I don't think there will be a problem. My Angel ignores the Otos...:ssmile:

How big would you guess snack size is? The Otos I get are probably around an inch long when I get them. My Angel is around 4 inches. Thanks!

Have you added any new Otos with the Angel lately? Thanks!

I added some awhile back, and Annabelle was fully grown, or at least she seems to be. She'll investigate them on the glass, but it never goes beyond that. Annabelle does seem to be one of the "laid back" Angels, though...

From my experience, you should be OK. I've never had a problem with my angels bothering my oto's, and I added the oto's after the angels were grown and established in the tank.
If you haven't dealt with oto's before, I'd recommend doing a good float or drop acclamation....I've head of others having problems when not doing this...
I'd be worried because if the angelfish tries to eat the oto the otos spines will lodge it in the angelfish's mouth.

As long as the oto exceeds the size of the angels mouth then it will be fine.
Good Luck!

agreed, take your time acclimating them though!

Take a look at these before purchasing otos.
