View Full Version : really ugly plant ID please

I asked for the name of this plant before but have forgotten what I was told. Sorry to be asking again.

This is a stem plant, grows clear to the waters surface but remains ugly as sin, tall and lanky and no lower leaves on sections of it. I have cut if off numerous times thinking it would fill out but as you see, it just grows UP again. More light perhaps? And what is it?

Could be rotala rotundifolia that is not getting near enough light.

Now that sounds familiar! I also think light is the issue here. Thanks. I think you got it.

And thank you Korith! It does look familiar but not quite right.

I agree. I have a LOT of these in my 29G tetra tank. When I first got them I had them in a low light 20G tank and that's what they looked like.
