Any of you guys keeping any of the ORA corals or other livestock? I was wondering how they were doing in the tank if so. What kind of growth that you've noticed or any drawbacks. If you're curious or have no idea what ORA is I will post a link to their site below. Nice to see the aquaculture process start to make up a little more of this hobby.

We carry ORA at my work. Mainly frags and clownfish. They do very well. A birdsnest coral we have has doubled in size, much better than other frags. The clownfish tend to settle in faster and have fewer health issues in general. ORA is doing a great thing for this hobby.

Nice to hear that they are working out as well as advertised. I hadn't even heard of the ORA until last weekend. So I decided to check out their site last night. Seems like they're pretty well put together. I look forward to putting more of their livestock in my tank when possible. Too bad they don't sell directly to the public.

I have had a good experience with their stuff too. IME, their livestock is very healthy. The frags they sell are fully encrusted onto the plugs when they sell them. The only thing I don't like, is that they use these horrible frag plugs on their corals:

The plugs are made of a lightweight plastic that is very hard to cut. So if you can't find a place to stick the whole plug, you have to saw or dremmel the plug to turn it into a disk. I actually ended up fragging my frag. I snapped it off at the base and attached it to some rubble. I stuck the encrusted plug into my frag rack, and eventually that will turn into another usable frag, so I guess that is a bonus, lol. Here is what the frag looked like after I remounted it (rose millipora on the left):

Man those are some real beauts! I'm not really liking the plugs that they come on either. But like you said I guess it really ends up being a bonus in the end. A couple of the corals that I picked up this weeknd are supposed to be ORA's. I'm still researching to verify this though. I love the looks of some of their clams. I really need to find a good dealer around here that's close and carries more of their stuff.
