Hello Everyone,
Just seemed to stumble upon this website whilst looking for information on breeding p.pulcher (kribs). I`m very new to aquarium having only just started to mature an 18"x15"x12" tank, bought for me by my family and friends for my 30th birthday (16/02/07). I currently have 3 outdoor ponds in the backyard (2`square 18" deep natural pond ((frogs, newts etc)), 750 litre preform ((goldfish, comets small koi)), 6`x8`x5` ((koi, orfe, goldfish, sturgeon, comets, shubs, mirror carp)).
Last year my koi bred in the big pond and i tried to rear them indoors over winter, which meant me borrowing a small tank and ignorantly doing what I thought was for the best, two of the three fish died and the survivor was placed back into the pond to try and save it, not seen since.
However one good thing came out of this, my partner decided to club family and friends together to buy me an indoor tank. I now have 5 emperor tetra, 2 bronze cory, and 2 kribs in the tank, and, I`m getting a bigger one tomorrow 36"x15"x15" as I want to set up a biotope of the Amazon. The fish I already have will fit perfectly into that habitat anyway and I have some nice ideas.
I will post some pictures and keep you all posted, if you are interested that is.
Kind Regards:19:
Steve
