My 125g will be here next week. I'm doing a bare bottom setup with an arowana, peacock bass, and a reticulated stingray.

I'd like to have some floating plant at one end of the tank to provide some coverage for the fish.

Any ideas? I'd prefer something that literally sits at the top of the tank with no roots coming down.

Java moss is great for that!

Does your moss float Northernguy? Mine sinks like an anchor LOL

Ludwigia Helminthorrhiza is a great floating plant with no roots....Hygroyza aristata also or nice and plain Hornwort as it doesn't need to be planted to thrive would also do the trick

Some other floaties

Hornwart is mine. I've had to deal with kinds of hornwart that would float no matter what, and at the same time I've had hornwart sink like a rock. So be careful with this! Also, an arowana and a peacock bass in a 125 might be a little crowded. You might want to look for a little larger tank in the future for these guys, but it's up to you.

Ya i'm trying to buy the fish small for now. i understand they will need a bigger tank. when a problem arises i will do the right thing.

broke my heart to get rid of my oscar, but i did what was best for the fish ;)

I understand. I have an oscar right now, and he is definitely one I wouldn't want to lose.

How about duckweed? It will literally cover the surface completely, and grows faster than anything else.
