I currently have a planted 55 with tiger barbs and tetras, and a 29 with some convict cichlids. Now I have a cheap 55 that i can buy, but i dont know what to put in it. I was thinking some larger type fish, like around 5 inches, but i dont want to have just 1 fish in the whole tank. I would want at least 3 or 4. I was thinking cichlids, but don't know much about the different kinds. Seems most get at least 8 inches, and i dont think many of them would fit. So any suggestions to stock a 55? I'm thinking rocky with few plants, just what I remove from my other planted tank.

A 55 would make a great African tank!thumbs2:
How hard is the water where you are?
you can make it a lake tangiyka tank [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
or it would make a great mbuna tank..

If you do go for africans I highly recommend a liquid test kit.

I reccomend a liquid test kit for all occasions!
(Although right now I can't tell If I'm the luckiest person on the planet and I have no Ammonia, nitrites or nitrates or if I'm somehow doing the test wrong.)
