So, I got my ammonia levels down with the new blood parrot. Really weird though. Yesterday the readings were 0.6, now, it's almost at 0! I rinsed out the filter sponges in tank water, and they were pretty gucky. But, I was just wondering what is the best food for a blood parrot? I have blood worms, daphnia, and a small cichlid food (by topfin), but I want to know a good quality daily food for him? All he does right now is hide in a little cave I have. I walked by the room the tank is in, and he started to peek out of the hole, then he saw me and darted back in the cave! Hopefully he'll come out and be a little more social.

Blood Parrots will eat a variety of foods including flake, live, frozen, and freeze dried foods. If he hides down at the bottom then sinking foods may be best. Also, If you are having a hard time getting the ammonia down to 0 then try the product in the link below. From my expierence using Prime, it seems to work fairly well.

Good luck! That's very interesting about your ammonia! Anyways, looks like Agassizii has it down to the spot. Enjoy!
