Draco the male only cost me like...$0.40, I gotta tell you sometimes I like working at petco >_>
The reason I got him was because one of my females passed away this week so I couldn't resist opening up my home to another baby.
Well that only worked so well, because I spotted a half moon female >_<

Sooo meet the new couple (he already made her a bubble nest over night)

Oh yeah, I hope you've removed them from the "cups of death"

I'm actually planning on buying them a mini bow and dividing it for them because they're absolutly smitten with each other. Right now they're both in temporary 1 gallon kritter keepers till I either get the minibow, or I get the out of my tanks that I'm using to quarentine my boyfriend's fish XD
But yeah I always leave them in those cups for the first like hour so I can take a billion pictures of them.

And no I don't plan on breeding them because 1.) He's a Vieltail and they're so saturated on the market right now it'd probally be hard to find homes for so many of them and 2.) I don't have the time/money.

A male Betta produces a bubble nest basically to say he is ready to breed. The female lays eggs and they stay in the bubble nest and the male cares for the eggs until they hatch.

In that case, Napoleon must have tons of pent up frustration. LOL I do a water change once a week, but the next day after his water change, he's already started his nest again. By the time he's due for another change, that nest is covering almost the whole right side of his 5 gallon tank (about 5 inches wide and 3 inches across). I wish I could catch him in the act of making it, but I guess he does it while I'm at work. >:(

Why do they always choose the right side? Does anyone's build their nest somewhere else?

A lot of boys tend to build theirs directly after a water change, I guess they're like "hey I live in a clean environment lets get it on!"
My one boy that makes them every week seems to pick a spot for a few times and then switch, first it was the back left corner, then it was the back right corner, and now the front right, so go figure.
