It depends. What size tank? What filter? What water change schedule?

In my experience the answer is no. The FBN will devour the frog they are aggressive eaters and if you dont stay up on water changes the FBN will give the frog toxicidia for sure. Its to much of a hassle.

Actually there is no real evidence for them constantly leaking poison that I have come across yet. I researched it a lot and found no actual facts to support this popular piece of what seems to be misinformation. My fire belly toads and newts are fine together, along with eastern newts. If these guys are not allowed to get too hungry, the tank is setup right (lots of dcor, not just an empty tank). They are poisonous but it seems they only release that poison when stressed and attacked.

I have read tons of information about this, they all say the same thing. They just regurgitate the same information about toxins, native areas, etc. and then describe worst case situations.
Please read my article on my viquarium, it explains my combinations. [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
The pics aren't in the article anymore, but they are still in my photobucket page.
Mixing can be done, but it needs good planning, a proper setup, research, and space.
