I usually feed my 46 gallon tank black worms one night, then tetra tropical granules the next.

My loaches don't seem to be a fan of the granules. Looking for something else to vary their diet with.

Any suggestions?

I do throw in a piece of cantaloupe or cucumber from time to time.

worms, worms and more worms, washed down with some escargot.

Translation: blood worms (frozen), live white and California Black worms, and any snail's life is forfeit in a clown loach tank.

Yep, throw in some small snails and watch 'em be devoured in minutes.:22:

none of the fish in my tank would eat the new life spectrum sinking pellets, lol

i literally watched them spit them out...had to suck them out of tank...*sigh*...waste of $10

Not exactly wasted. Give it more than one day, they'll come around.

My clown loaches love NLS pellets.

Agreed. A one-time feeding is a poor test of weather or not your fish will eat something. Like many animals you have to slowly change their diet, you can't just throw a new food in and expect them to instantly devour it every time, some foods require adjustment.

How should I go about doing this?

Throw in a few more pieces tomorrow?

Cut out their normal food until they eat this?

There's a couple of ways you can do it. You can cut out their normal food completely for a week and only feed the NLS. That may work, but you can also continue using stuff like the worms but then the only prepared food you would use was the NLS.

Most of the time an animal will take a test bite, see if they get sick or not. When you can not vomit, it is important to test food safety first.

I'll try to feed the NLS tomorrow.

I dropped a few black worms in the tank when the moonlight came on tonight, and everything in the tank went crazy.

I fed them ghost shrimp for the first time last week and they went nuts, lol.

i still see a few hiding for dear life ;)

Another thing they will nibble on is algae wafers. I throw one in for my pleco every now and then, and when I check on him in the morning, the loaches are right there with him chewing on it.

I do have 2 bags of those. I'll try throwing 1 in from time to time

Yeah, only one at a time though! But still, they do enjoy those every now and then. It represents the vegetables in a healthy loache's diet and gives them nice colors. Good luck mi amigo.:22:

Mine love cucumbers. I jam a fork in it and drop in the tank and it's gone by morning.

Ya every once in a while I put a plant weight on a piece of that or cantaloupe and they enjoy a nice snack ;)
