here are more pictures i took at the san marcos river today. the land around it used to be privately owned, and they put on shows and had glass bottom boats. now it is owned by southwest texas state university and is a protected area. there are three animals that live nowhere else in the world, and 1 that is endangered.

I moved a turtle that big off the road today! I hope it was the side it wanted!lol

i have no idea what kind of bird he is, but sure hope he got that fish he was after!

the fountain darter, the blind cave salamander and i think it was called the texas red salamander. also there is a kind of wild rice that grows on the river that is protected.
Those blind cave salamanders are pretty neat.thumbs2:

Nice pictures. The bird is a green heron or now called a green-backed heron.
