looks a bit like a cane toad, but if you're not down under, that doesn't work.

If my memory is decent(its not) I think Will lives in south america, which would make it a rococo toad, commonly confused with the cane toad apparently

Central America, arrived in nicaragua a month ago and you are right as to the species (I think). Remembered it when I read it.

There's a lonely toad hanging around my backyard pond. All night long he sings; I'm wishing he'd get hooked up and shut up now. The first couple nights it wasn't so bad, but now it's become annoying. He was even singing this afternoon, must be getting desparate.

William, that's a lovely pic! But if one of those things was hopping around in my kitchen, with the posiibility that more may come through the window, I wouldn't need internet so that you guys could "hear" me:hmm3grin2orange: ....!!!!

It didn't wind up as a starter for dinner, did it?

He sure does look a cane toad!!! Can see why they get confused. Only most of the cane toads I've seen (alive anyway) are a bit fatter. They apparently make good pets (after you remove the poison glands, and hopefully neuter them so they can't contribute to the march across the country!)

That toad looks awsome! Do you have a lot of those that just jump right in your kitchen?

it is the second one this month. They do however come through the door not through the window ;-)

It did not end up as food.

Great pics William. You will probably get more of those now the rainy season has started. :ssmile:

I can't imagine that would taste too good. Although, I have heard of people eating frog legs before. :hmm3grin2orange:

Very cool! When I used to visit my Dad on the weekends in Howell there would be a week or two in spring/summer where hundereds of frogs would climb out of the lake and migrate a few miles west? Anywho, we were lucky enough to be on their route, and we had quite a few get into the house, very cool, but then again, it makes me think, how did they get in, and what else can get in there?

In this case that is easy to explain. Through the open door.

Are you going to keep him?

I see him every now and again but he is still a wild toad. I also have an iguana, another 10 inch lizards, myriads of geckos, lot of small frogs of different species and two oppusums living on the yard that i see every day.
