Finally I wanna change my light fixture, cuz... it's a crappy 20W.
Which one of the following ones do you think will go best with my 37G (36")?

Oh yeah, if there's anyone from Toronto in here, where the heck does one get glass top covers like this in GTA:

I like 1 and 3, particularly 1. LOTS of light.
As for the glass hoods, if you can't find them in the retail stores you can typically go to a hardware store and get some plexiglass cut to size that works find. You'll just have to buy the hinge joints online.
I think:
1. Overkill.
2 and 3. Just about the same except 3 has a lunar light. Maybe I'm missing something though.
4. Adequate.
Is this a planted tank? If so you definitely don't want option #1 without a CO2 injection system and should look to #2 or #3.
Have you price-shopped at Bigalsonline.com?

It is a planted tank. I have Swordplant, Java Fern, little Vallisneria (that hasn't grown an inch in months), various crypts and Anubias nana.
I just want my plants to grow past midline of the water column, because so far the top layer of water is bare :(
And I put away some money. So, I wanna know what's adequate... on a student budget though :)
Bigal's have a price-matching policy, right?

I think the second or third will give you what you are looking for. I own several varieties of the third and they have served me well.

Agreed 100%
For the plants you named, you dont need something like #1, unless super high tech is the way you wish to go with this tank. (co2 inject, the works)
Bigalsonline.com usually has better prices. Usually, not always, but certainly worth looking at.

I have algae growing as is (managable amount) , so... I don't want it to cover the whole tank :)
