aggression rears it's ugly head

Tonight my jewel cichlids had a showdown and for one of them it didn't turn out good, The tank I have them in isn't ideal and I was trying to rehome one of them (the odd one beside my couple) I even have someone who will take it but he is not too good at keeping in touch and keeps putting it off later and later.
Too make a long story short, the odd one fought with my male who is now in pretty bad shape, lost its balance and seems to have a damaged gill,
I have quarantined the wounded fish (in a bucket with filter, heater and 50% clean water) and just hope he makes it through the night.
I put extra stress coat in the water and don't know what else I can do for him:scry:

That sucks, sorry to hear.

Thats pretty much all you can do for him right now and just hope he pulls through.

EDIT: Being moved into a bucket is adding a lot more stress on the little guy. I was just thinking maybe you could have moved the healthy male into the bucket instead of the beat up one. Thats your call though.
