Dwarf Lily Plant

I have a dwarf lily plant that, in the past few days, has suddenly started growing leaves and now has a long stem growing up with a leaf on the end that appears to shriveled. Does anyone know if the stem is going to have a flower or anything like that? If it is not can someone tell me what is going on with the plant?
