This seems like it should be so simple, but I am having trouble successfully cleaning my filter intake tube during weekly maintenance. How can I remove the tube on my AC70 without shaking lose all the debris that is sucked to it?

Put a plastic cup over it before removing. I am impressed mine gets cleaned maybe once a month.

i intentionally do not clean mine unless i think flow is suffering--one of my oto cats' favorite places to hang out and snack is on the tube. One thing you could try is taking the intake screen off it(while its running) and run a brush up there. That would knock everything loose and it could get sucked up into the filter. Also, you could put a sponge on the end of the intake to act as a pre-filter of sorts to catch stuff before it clogged your tubing

I occationally remove my hoses.....bend them around, then put one end up to a faucet and turn up the pressure. If that doesnt work for ya, you can take a piece of string with a nut (hardware kind, not food LOL) tied to it. Drop the nut binto the hose until it pulls the string out the other end....THEN tie a little rag onto the string and pull the rag through the tube. Typically the stuff that builds up in the tubes comes out quite easily. In fact, I can get a bunch of white flakes to shoot out the exhause just by turning the filter off and on a coupke of times. Then my tank looks like a snow globe LOL...
