Hey guys could you please help me make the right choice? I would like to have either the cockatoo or the ram, but dont know witch one would be the best choice. I have cherry shrimp in my tank along with 5 corries and neon tetras. Witch would be most peaceful? or should I move on to a diff fish? if these are not right for my tank?

I have no knowledge or experience with shrimp so I cant say. So it makes it harder for me to answer the question. But with Shrimp aside. I would choose the Rams. IMO they look much nicer. But the Cockatoos seem to be much more polite fish.

In a matter of fact I think you're understocked right now. Both are good choices, but it's up to you on the fish you want. The 55 can house both at the same time if you wish it.

I have both in a 29 gallon along with some ghost shrimp and they all get along just fine :)

while the adult shrimp may survive, babies will be lunch

Personally i like the Bolivians more, if you like dwarf cichlids check out the African Butterfly Cichlids, they're really nice looking and a nice placid fish, they spend alot of time in the top third of your tank.
Good luck.thumbs2:

I tried to find a profile or something on the Bubble Ram, but was unsuccessful in my search. Although, I do remember seeing a pic of one on some site.

Good Luck!

I did some more research on the Bubble Ram and have found something. I think that you may be thinking of the Balloon Ram.

I found that it is just a tank strain of the GBR that makes the ram all blown up, but it also may just be another common name for the GBR.
