I just answered a question on allexperts.

someone wanted to know how many oscars they can put in a 10g, yes, 10g.
I was surprised to hear this and they wanted to breed the oscars they had in the 10g, then add tankmates in the 10g.

I gave the usual 55g for one, 75 for 2 with good filtration, 150 or 175 for 3 or four, or 2 in a 175g with a pleco

How many incidents like this that can be avoided by just asking

Yea, there are just a lot of uneducated people that dont reasearch anything before they try it. At least this person asked and got an honest answer.

The scary part is that there are a lot of people who just buy the tank and the fish and just assume it's ok without ever knowing or asking about what is "right"!

Yea, that person could have ended up with an Oscar in a 10 gallon. None of us would dream of that. lol. Just a little reasearch and you can learn alot!
