bad idea. Jelly fish have been tried in aquariums, but they often die within months or even days. They need the ocean to survive.

If you do decide to keep one even though it will die, you will need about a 700-1000g tank with LOTS of jellyfish's specific needs

Welcome to AC.

Jellyfish, saltwater sharks, stingrays, octopus are all considered extremely difficult to keep, and are usually reserved for the advanced aquarist or an institution.

Stingrays are for experts, all the rest like sharks and jellyfish are only for 10,000g tanks or the ocean:1:

If you did get a six foot shark, and it died, how would you dispose of it? bury it? eat it? EEEWwww, bad thought

If you got a 6 ft shark, you would die before you got it in the tank.

that would be hard to take in. You'd have to buy it as a baby and let it grow i guess

it wouldnt. To spend all that time with a diy tank to have the jellyfish die.

However, if you wanna build a diy 300g and put in 100 neon tetras or 20 angels or something cool like that it'd work, providing you can get 4 canster heaters, and 5 300w heaters

Yea, trying to keep a very tempermental SW fish is not exactly up my alley. FW on the other hand i am game for anything as long as it doesnt grow over a foot! lol

imagine the cost of salt. 2 cups of salt per gallon of water, soooooooo....

for a 600, thats 1200 cups, which is like 500$ salt
