Well, came home to find my Penguin filter on my 75 dead, kaput. Took it apart, no go. So, ordered a new one as there is not a fish store around here with a filter big enough for the 75. Hope and pray I get it in the next few days!!!!! I also found my juvie angels belly up in my 38 gallon. I just don't know!!! They were not swimming well from the day I got them, and of course I cannot go back up to Ottawa to get more as it is a 2 hour trip. Moan and groan, groan and moan!!!!

Man, tis sucks! Angels are SUCH pretty fish too! Too bad filters are so dang expensive! This would be a great time to have a spare!!!!!

I know!! I actually had a spare filter. I went downstairs a couple weeks go to check on my convicts and found like 6 inches of water missing from the top of the tank and a soaking wet carpet. The marineland canister was leaking and dumping water on the carpet!!!!!! So I put my spare there instead. I should get a spare, good idea. I'll wait for a great sale and pick one up.

That definitely is a "sucky" day sharonm, so sorry! I have spares of filters and heaters, but you don't think to buy another spare for the spare one do you!

I was looking at my tank the other day and the position of the intake. I decided to raise it up for two reasons. ONE... because if something happens to the canister... I don't want to suck out the WHOLE tank's water! IF it's higher, there will still be water in the tank there until I can remedy the situation.

The other reason was, when my fish finally spit their babies... I figure they'll more than likely stay close to the rock for a while and the filter being low would run the risk of sucking them up!
