My female Black convict cichlid has been seperated from any other convicts since about a week after she was free swimming so since she was just a lil fry and about 4 hours ago i bought a male albino convict is it possible she could already start laying eggs coz she is displaying all the normal things my old breeding pair of black convicts use to when they would breed and the male is rubbing up against her and she looks like she is trying to put eggs out onto the ornamental castle?

Is she showing female coloration? If so she is old enough to produce eggs and with a male will likely do so.

Yesh she has very vibrant colouration compared to all other females i have seen, but is she able to produce eggs within hours of being put with a male?

As long as she is old enough. The new activity and male may trigger her to mature them, not necessarily lay them yet.

Have you bred them before? They breed like rabbits & they don't muck around. I had them years ago and it felt like they were producing babies every single month, it was crazy.

What would be the best filter to use in the tank with the parents and fry
?

I would use my Whispers as usual and just put a Bio-bag over the intake. It worked perfectly. Same filtration as usual without the fry being killed, and didn't have to pay for new filters.

Like how many years of age does it take them to reach there full length

Also something odd has happened
My Male White convict has begun digging out a broken pot which is normal
but my female black convict's dorsal and anal fins have gotten longer so she has fins like a male Convict but has the vibrant colours of a female

If she is showing the female coloration that is the main key to gender.

It depends on feeding and health. I have seen retics at 6' in one year, other snakes never really reach full size. Just feed as much as possible without powerfeeding and you should be fine. My rule is weekly feed something about as big around as the snake.
