I have a ten gallon tank with a 2 clumps of java moss in it, each the size of your fist. I was just wondering if i should get rid of my air pump. the tanks a little over stockedwith guppies (not surprising). i plan on turning my 29 gallon into a medium planed tank... should i keep an air pump in there... im looking for the most plant/fish safe idea. Im sure that the java moss could care less, but wen i put a little less forgiving plants in the 29 gallon, i want to know wat to do.

The air pump will be fine to keep. What little co2 your moss requires will not be lost due to surface agitation. Most plants will not be bothered by it either. The only way an air pump is usually an issue is if you are actually trying to dose co2 through a diffuser,in which case it would be lost due to the airstones.

I would keep the air pump in the tank. It's not going to hurt the plants and it will help keep the water moving which is always a good thing.
