Hey all, woke up this morning to 15 little molly frythumbs2: (so far). Just one question though, do i really need special fry food or will they do ok feeding on the scraps on the gravel bed, as i've seen them doing. I've bought a little bottle of liquid fry food but the cardinal tetras seem to get most of it before it gets to the bottom.
I had to buy some extra protection in the form of plants today because they're even being harassed by the tetras. That's normal I assume?
Any thoughts appreciated, thanks!

All of my fry receive powdered flake food. Great results.

Yeah I always fed my fry first bites which is powder. If you have a bunch of floatings plants at the top, you can sprinkle the powder directly over where they are, yes the other fish will get some too, but the fry will get enough. If you are going to have to keep them in the same tank for a while you may want to get a divider so that they do not turn in to snack for the other fish.

I have a million guppy fry and all they get is powdered flakes!
I used to by the liquid but found they eat the flakes more!

I'm planning to keep what i can for now, but i haven't had the chance to setup another tank so its survival of the fittest for at the moment, i could watch the little fellas all day! With the powdered flake, do you buy that special or is it the normal flake food and i just crush it up myself?
Thanks for the replies thumbs2:

You can buy special fry food, like First Bites, or you can crush it up yourself. I get the fry food just to make sure they grow well and it works great, but I am sure regular flakes crushed up would do just fine too.
