my stealth heater has been in my 55 gal. tank for 2 weeks now,it has 100`s of small bubbles all over it. is this normal? or something to worry about? i`am going thru a fishless cycle at the moment. thanks

yes. that's perfectly normal. they will go away over time when everything settles. mine did that too for a while. good job with picking fishless cycling!--jeff

Yes, warm water holds less oxygen, thus the water around the heater gets heated up and releases bubbles that stick to the heater. Whats the wattage on the heater though? It shouldn't be getting bubbles unless the water temp is lower than the heater temp, and if the tank has already been going for 2 weeks....

Try placing a thermometer at the opposite end of the tank. My heater did the bubble thing as well, but only for the first few days. As soon as the temperature is stabilized and even across the whole tank, you shouldn't see any more bubbles forming (unless those are from a while ago).

Mine did the same exact thing. I think it took like 5 days almost to go away

yeah. Its like if you put water in a new tank, bubbles cling to the side until they float away and pop. Heat also causes this
