Hi.

I recently purchased a fish tank from someone and they gave me their 2 fish, only one that was alive. This guy is about 8 inches and according to the previous owners, had lived with the dead fish for a couple of months:scry:

What? Why would someone keep a fish with a dead fish........... to make the water toxic and make this one sick?

I don't know what kind it is.

I don't know much about IDing fish but from an outsider that sure looks like a match. I hope he feels better with his new owner. I've know people that would get sick of their fish and let them all die, leaving the dead ones in to infect their healthy fish. I got really mad at them for that.. what a horrible idea :(

I hope so. Because otherwise it means the person was too lazy to grab a net and scoop out a dead fish.

No. There was a 6 inch skeleton of a pleco in with this fish. The owner said it died a long time ago. Bad owner.

WHAT?!! OMG. The tank must have been in a horrible state when you got it then. It must have stank! How did you clean it out?

Wow 6 inches of dead fish. Thats an incredible amount of waste. How that tank didnt turn into a foul soup is amazing. Even 50% daily water changes probably wouldnt keep up with a decomposing fish of that size.
