Ok, so far I have 6 tanks total! I started with one in January 2009. Only 2 are running.
My 20g long is currently housing some danios, a white cloud, and a dalmatian molly and red platy I got as fry.
My new 46g bow front is now housing everybody from the 60g; 6 tiger barbs, 5 red eye tetras, 2 odessa, a large bush fish, and 3 emerald cories (getting more today).
The 60g needs repair. Some of you know that I got the 46g because the seams on the 60 were showing signs they were about to leak. When I went to Petsmart the tank is now sold under Marineland not Topfin and boasts a label that says "With double sealed seams". Hmmmm. I guess this tank had a problem. I'm deciding if I want to sell it to have money to repair the 45 or fix it as well and use it.
The 45 is a tank I found abandoned. I have cleaned the water stains off already. Its an older tank, the glass is really thick and I think the maker is oceanview. I have also stripped most of the silicone just need a bit more elbow grease. The front pane really needs to come off and be put back on.
The other two tanks are a 3g eclipse... not used at the moment, and a 10g I use as a hospital.

I think I will sell the tank alone (mom wants the stand) and use the money to fix up the 45g.

specs:
3g empty
10g bare bottom, filter in the 20g to keep it cycled.
20g black gravel, UGF, Lots of air stones, Marineland 20g filter and topfin 10g filter, Glass top, neon artificial plants, volcano, oriental lantern.
45g repairing
46g sand bottom, Marineland 70g filter, AC 70g filter, glass top, assorted green artificial plants, false driftwood, real driftwood, sideways terra cotta pot.
60g selling the tank.

Ok so I'm dropping the 45 project. I had a free day today to work on it and unfortunately figured out its almost impossible to remove the front panel. I can't get a blade between the glass and its chipping the glass. The tank won't hold water like it is. So my friend is tanking it to make a giant terrarium for fuzzy his tarantula. I'm going to work at this guys place to make some money to buy a tank. He pays me to groom his horses. Oh and sell the 60g to raise money for the filters and such.
This plan also works because I think I can figure a way to arrange all the fish to work out. George can stay!

tank a: aggressive
George
Tigers
Odessas
Cory (not aggressive but big enough to deter george)

tank b: more peaceful
red eye
Red and blue
Molly
Platys

20g:
black skirts
danios

I set up the three gallon tank yesterday. I used sand from my bigger cycled tank to hopefully cycle this one. I think it worked. The only drawback to this tank is that it gets hot. I took the heater out to keep it from cutting on. The problem is that the light is hot and the entire top is plastic. If I remove the lid it seems to stay cooler but still rises to 80 during the day. In the morning its around 74-78. There is a single betta in it. The betta was in a bowl, I hate to think what the temperature was in there. We don't usually run the air conditioner unless the house gets above 78. We have nice Low-E windows and ceiling fans and open doors. Blue seems much happier though in the bigger tank and I don't think he is too stressed about the temperature change. I'm keeping an eye on him though and the temp.

I gave the 45 gallon tank to my boyfriend for fuzzy the tarantula. I'm really excited that a 40 breeder is only 129 at Petsmart and has a glass top and light. Its much better than the 350 I spent on the 46 bowfront. I didn't think I would be able to work up the money grooming horses to get a new tank but the 40g Breeder changes everything. It will fit perfectly were I need it to go. When I get home tomorrow I'm going to the back of the house to dig up scrap wood from the remodel to see if there are some good pieces to build a stand. Yea!

I must be careful with money though. My mom isn't working and my dad is basically retired and I don't have a job and go to school full time and my schedule won't allow work the rest of this year. :( I have about 500.00 to last me 4 months to another disbursement of a family "trust" IF we get that. So I HAVE to hold on just in case the decide to not send out any money. :( :(

I promise to get photos tomorrow! My dad and I are building a stand for a fish tank I don't have LOL. I figure it will only take 5 horses to get the money for the tank and another 2 for the filter. Woo, better get busy.

Owl--
you're to be commended on your work ethic and goal setting. You have a very clear picture of what you want to do and how to do it, while keeping your expectations of the situation and yourself realistic. So many people your age(and I know many) lack that ability and have the "i want it all and i want now" syndrome and that's truly troubling. It looks like that stand is being built to hold a bus, not a fish tank. Remember to keep one eye on craigslist, you might be able to pickup what you need on the cheap. good luck

Thanks terrapin. I have been watching craigslist but there is never anything good in this area. Most stuff is being sold the price a store sells it or more. I hope that tank will hold a bus LOL. I told my dad I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough, he just looked at me raised an eyebrow and laughed. It was fun building it. I drew up the design, went to home depot and got the materials, cut the wood myself, daddy drilled the holes and screwed it together, and I'm going to paint it and add shelves. Because of school going into finals week I haven't been able to go wash horses so no money :( At least I will have a month off before summer session.

Well I ended up getting the 40g on my credit card. I wanted to work for it but this morning I looked in for their morning feed I noticed a very bullied fish and some very bullying Odessa. I went to Petsmart and picked it up maxing the rest on my card. I'm going to work to pay it off my card. I'm going to set it up tomorrow. I got an interesting offer in Petsmart though. My old manager wanted to know if I wanted to come back and work as a groomer again. Hmmm thats and easy 2-300 dollars a week. But Can I Handle it and School? Got to think about it. Speaking of school I have to finish two more papers before monday! ACK!

Its a good thing I'm a really relaxed and calm being. I had to return the 40BR because the seals had bubbles all over the place. I got another 46g Bowfront. (I am putting in my ap for Petsmart grooming. My other old manager said they could work around my schedule for school. 15% off woo hoo) I called EVRY pet store in the area and NO ONE had another 40BR. I'm going to have my dad mod the stand we built to accommodate the bowfront. Going to set it up tomorrow. After I go turn in the rest of my papers.

Well besides one exam left on Friday, I'm done with school! Yea!!!

The new tank is set up. My camera died so unfortunately no photos till I find the charger. George is loving it and things are how it should be, semi aggressive with semi and community with community. I still need to pick up two more filters though.

I put in my application to Petsmart yesterday so we shall see if I get hired back as a groomer. That would be 200+$ a week and 15% Off with two times a year 30% off. The company is nice to work for although I was disappointed to see they now had GloFish. The little sign says not dyed, born this way... Still people will thinks its cool to have neon fish.
