This morning i went to clean out my pond (it was one of those preform plastic type. About 30 gallons.) And When i drained it and pulled it out it had a hole in it. I guess maybe one of the rocks around it ripped a hole when i lifted it up out of the ground. So me and my grandma when to lowes to see if there was any pond hole patching stuff. There wasn't so she picked up a pond kit and said happy birthday. My birthday is in a month and a half. I was so happy! It took me around 3 hours to install it.

I believe its around 90 gallons. i think the liner box said 100gal. And i used almost all except a big corner piece.

I want some.
How many fish can go in a 90gal and what type?
I did have some small comet goldfish in the old pond. But some passed away over the years. I still have 2 there over 2 years old. but there in a tank now.

Comets are cool and are perfect for a pond that size, how many depends on what filtration you have, mechanical as well as biological. If you have a good filter going you could have 3-6 small to medium comets.Or for a more interesting fish, get a fantail fancy goldfish or 2 with some good color.Whatever fish you decide on make sure they get no bigger the 8" each and keep your stocking down to less then 72" total.Whatever you get, dont let yourself be talked into koi of any type, not even 1,they are too big for a small pond.

Thanks,
I was thinking some guppies? I breed them and figured i could keep them there and when it starts getting over crowded i would take the extras to the petshop for my credits. and it stays over 80 here during the summer. And during the winter i could put a few heaters in there. It usally dosent get below freezing more than a few times a winter. Or i could keep only the ones a really like and send the rest to the petshop and put the ones i keep in my 55 gallon. With my platy's and mollies. Until spring.
And how many guppies can fit in a 90gal? I have a bio filter made for ponds up to 200gal.

Guppies would work but can only survive as low as the mid 60's. And I would say over a hundred could fit in their

And if i put maybe 2 small goldfish will they be fine with the guppies?

Thanks. I went to my lfs today. i got 4 little feeder comets for 1 buck!
I think i will wait a few weeks before i add guppies. Still alittle chilly at night.

Do you have to test pond water like fish tank water? Thanks everyone!

It is an outdoor fish tank! A cycled filter or at least cycled media added to it.

Nice pond. But when your goldfish get bigger, they will call your guppies "lunch."
