My platy had fry yesterday only about ten a still alive in the breeder tank. Not sure why so few survived but I want to move them into their own tank when is it safe to move them?

Now if you have a cycled tank standing by.
What are the perameters of the platy tank? Its odd that most would die unless they were being eaten or beat up on.
I don't move the fry from my guppy tank anymore!I just let them be and they do great hiding out in the java moss floating at the top.

they are currently in the breeding tank mom is out the tank I want to move them to is just an old tank with new water. Should I leave them in the breeding tank and try to clean the dead ones out or move them into a seperate tank.

Clean the dead ones out either way
Is it just a mother and babies in the tank?
If so:
The easiest thing to do at this point is leave them there, take some of the media from that filter, add it to the other tank and move her there for a while. Putting the fry in the uncycled tank, even with new media maybe kill them because of the possibility of a small mini-cycle.
In the future put a sponge filter in the main tank for a few weeks prior and move it and the babies to the new tank at the same time
