A dog would have to eat A LOT of regular milk chocolate to have it affect them, but the PURE chocolate, like baking chocolate, can be very harmful.

OH, and avocodos, apple seeds and onions are also poisonous to dogs.

I had a good laugh. I know some of them aren't real. The "rule of thumb" has nothing to do with beating.

Domestic violence/discipline

It is often claimed that the term originally referred to the maximum thickness of a stick with which it was permissible for a man to beat his wife.[1] This explanation for the origin of the term was popularized in the opening of the 1999 movie The Boondock Saints.

Linguist Michael Quinion, citing the research of Sharon Fenick, notes that there are some examples of a related usage historically — most notably with regard to a supposed pronouncement by a British judge, Sir Francis Buller. However, it is questionable whether Buller ever made such a pronouncement and there is even less evidence that he phrased it as a "rule of thumb"; the rumoured statement was so unpopular that it caused him to be lambasted as "Judge Thumb" in a satirical James Gillray cartoon. According to Quinion, the term "Rule of Thumb" was first documented in English in 1692, long before Buller's reported pronouncement. The first known usage of the phrase "rule of thumb" in direct reference to domestic violence was in 1976, in the book Battered Wives by Del Martin.

Use as a physical measurement

The measurement of an inch is derived from the distance between the base of the thumbnail and the first joint. This is a plausible origin as the thumb is often used for rough measurement by carpenters, seamstresses, artists and many others.

Ooh...The Boondock Saints. The one brother in that movie (the dark haired guy who later acted in Blade II) is HOT. His accent in the movie left a lot to be desired, but who cares about listening to him when you can actually look at him. *drool* :malelovies:

Not to spoil the fun but...

A longstanding rumor had linked Lucci to comedienne Phyllis Diller as Diller's daughter. The two entertainers are not related in any way

from widipedia :) Since I thought that sounded funny.

lol, actually if you are Chinese, you can tell other Asians apart quite easily. I'm not sure why this is so, but then again, I can never tell Europeans apart.

i actually learned about this is Psych. class. It is easy to distinguish people among ones own race, but other races the people all look the same. It is because we cant physically relate to them with any features ( facial )
