HI i am a Brit and I have recently been given 2 mature red bellied Piranhas. One has recently lost body colour and has gone very pale, anyone able to tell me possible causes? Thank you

Loss in color is often attributed to stress. What are you water parameters?

It is most likely stress. Check you water parameters and let us know

if your water is good, they may need a more varied diet. i found that feeding only one variety of food tends to cause colour fade.
