Well done, Mith! Some stunning photos of your beautiful fish!
Great shots there Mith! What lens are you using?
Awww shux thanks LOL
The lense is the one that came with the camera (Canon Rebel XSI.... I think its 17-55mm. I dont know what does what, but if you play with it long enough eventually ya get some decent pics LOL.
Oh I just noticed....in the last picture, you can see a little white bump by his lower, left front fin. I noticed it the other day. something going on there. Doesn't look like ICK.....but it's something. Hope it aint a fatal disease! This species of fish is VERY aggressive to it's own kind. I started out with about six of them! Only two left and they seem to spat occasionally!
I'm going to be giving my bass-like looking fish to the guy I'm buying my Calvus from. They just will end up getting way too big. Penut would have already been eaten if e wasn't so quick! They chase him into the rocks all the time! Besides, I'd like to see a few of my Malawi babies grow up!!!
Cool! A Canon 450D! I'm using it's younger brother the 400D. Great DSLR.

Let me tell you whats crazy! I bought my camera at Best Buy. The cost, including memory card (8 gigs I believe) tax and license....was $888.00! And THIS camera is considered "entry level" ! What the heck!!!!!! ENTRY LEVEL???? lol
LOL! I know what you mean. The prices for semi-pro to pro DSLR's are crazy!!!

Penut's still alive! He's getting a little bigger and bolder. The Bass-like fish still try and eat him all the time which is why I'm getting rid of them.

fab pics mith, well done
Got my fish... I just did a HUGE water change and had to remove 80% of the rocks.... Dang bass-like fish were a HUGE booger to catch! I'm giving them (7 or 8 of them) to the guy who sold me my fish. They're just going to get too big (11-12") and won't work in my tank (shame on me for getting them in the first place)....
So I had to catch them all and put them in my.... uh... eh hem... new 20 gallon quarentine tank... DOH! Ya, got another one... LOL. Was cheap though... The 10g was 15 dollars... not sure what the 20g was because I bought a couple other things (air compressor.... sponge filter thingy...). But the bass-like fish are all in that tank now and tomorrow I'll take them ot the fish store (about 18 miles away from me) I'd have done it today but it's too late in the day and traffic would KILL me... LOL
ANyway, more pictures tonight. I got 10 Calvus and four Peacocks and two angels.... all beautiful fish!
