Hey Everyone,
Well, I wrote the blog about gettin the 30 gallon tank last night. I was able to pick up a few things, hydrometer, instant ocean, an a couple testing supplies. I got the tank filled with water, got the heater set to 82 Degrees, pump an filters going. I think I'm on my way.
The guy that gave me the tank had an 80 gallon set up next to his. He said that he was using this 30 gallon to do this process, he had a name for it which i've since forgotten. Whatever it was, there was basically a seaweed type substance in the tank. I tried getting as much of it out as I could, but looking at the down tube on my filter, it doesn't look like I got it all. I know that this is a very vague question given the information I have. BUT, will this seaweed stuff upset the balance of the tank at all? I've been cleaning off the down tube every chance i can to get it all out an not stress the pump. I just don't want to poison my water or anything. My plan's to get the water all set up with the raw shrimp and about a month from now tackle stocking the tank.
